Beginning Hungarian I starts from scratch, absolutely zero. It will give you phonology insights, pronunciation help, and basic shopping, telephone, and ordering-in-a-restaurant vocabulary, as well as numbers and some background on vowel harmony (how to attach the right endings); verb declension according to first, second, third-person singular, and plural. While this course does not delve too deeply, it does gives you a solid start and a basic understanding. Topics include pronunciation, introducing yourself, informal vs. formal address; colors, numbers, amounts, countries, days of the week; and shopping phrases, some verb endings, ordering, and paying in stores. This class is entirely online, and you can go at your own pace. The instructor can schedule web or phone meetings as needed to promote your learning. All course materials are included.
