Call for scholarship application of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, for the credit-based Hungarian Language and Hungarian Studies Programme
in the academic year of 2020/2021. The scholarship is intended for individuals of non-Hungarian citizenship (and of non-Hungarian descency) to increase their Hungarian language competence and “Hungarology” knowledge acquired at universities outside Hungary. The objective of the Hungarian Language and Hungarian Studies scholarship is to improve, broaden and strengthen the Hungarian language skills and “Hungarology” knowledge of graduate or undergraduate students of Hungarian studies. The two-semester course takes place in the MFA in Budapest with the cooperation of the University of Pécs.
2020. MÁJUS 14-17. PÁLYÁZATI FELHÍVÁS: A KÜLFÖLDÖN ÉLŐ MAGYAROK SZEMÉLYES ÉS SZAKMAI KÖTŐDÉSÉNEK ERŐSÍTÉSÉRE
A Külgazdasági és Külügyminisztérium (KKM) 2020-ban is megrendezi a többéves hagyományokra visszatekintő négynapos továbbképzését a nyugati diaszpórában és a Kárpát-medencei szórványban működő hétvégi és délutáni iskolák tanárai számára. A KKM a külhoni önkéntes pedagógusok szakmai támogatása érdekében 2011 óta rendszeresen tart magyarországi és külföldi találkozókat az oktatási kérdések közös megvitatására, az összetartozás tudatának erősítésére. A meghirdetett programok évek óta támogatják a diaszpórában működő magyar iskolák tevékenységeit, törekvéseit, fórumot biztosítva tapasztalataik átadására.
A KKM pályázatán elnyerhető ösztöndíjjal a nyertes pályázó külföldön élő magyarok személyes és szakmai kötődését, képzését, módszertani tudásának megosztását és fejlesztését, illetve szakmai párbeszédét kívánja támogatni és elősegíteni.
Az ösztöndíjas periódus 1 hónap. Az ösztöndíjat elnyerő külhoni magyar fő tevékenysége a benyújtott szakmai terve alapján történő felkészülés a magyarországi konferenciára, a jó gyakorlatok rendszerezése, bemutatásra való előkészítése, majd azok megosztása műhelymunka keretében a konferencián, illetve aktív részvétel a konferencia munkájában.
A budapesti továbbképzés (konferencia) időpontja: 2020. május 14-17.
Várható témái: - a tervezés és megvalósíthatóság kérdései, különös tekintettel a tananyagokra és tantervekre a jó gyakorlatok középpontba állításával, az oktatási folyamat lépései, a taneszközök és módszerek megfelelő használata, - a tehetséggondozás kérdései, - az egyes pedagógiai irányzatok helye és szerepe a XXI. századi elvárások fényében, - óratervek, tanmenetek a Balassi-füzetek használatához. THE RÁKÓCZI ASSOCIATION'S DIASPORA PROGRAM 2020
The Rákóczi Association's Diaspora Program in 2020 will continue to provide opportunities for 1000 Hungarians young people between the ages of 10 and 29 in Hungary. The aim of the program is to help Hungarians living in the Diaspora by traveling in the Carpathian Basin, developing personal contacts and gaining experience and knowledge. Participating youth can spend 8-10 days in Hungary. There are nine program periods to choose from throughout 2020, thematic study tours and summer camps. It is a condition of the application that young people actively participate in the work of weekend schools, scouting groups, traditional and cultural associations and religious communities operating in the local Hungarian communities where they live. RÁKÓCZI SZÖVETSÉG DIASZPÓRA PROGRAM 2020
2019. december 4-én indul a jelentkezés a 2020. évi Diaszpóra Programra. A Rákóczi Szövetség – a Magyar Diaszpóra Tanács megfogalmazott kérése alapján, a Magyar Kormány támogatásával – 2020-ban is lehetőséget teremt Diaszpóra Programjával magyarországi tanulmányútra 1000 diaszpórában élő 10 és 29 év közötti magyar fiatal számára. A program célja, hogy a Kárpát-medencei utazással, a személyes kapcsolatok kialakításával, az itt szerzett élményekkel és ismeretekkel segítse a diaszpórában élő fiatalok magyarságtudatát. A résztvevő fiatalok 8-10 napot tölthetnek Magyarországon. Kilenc programidőszak közül választhatnak 2020 folyamán, tematikus tanulmányutakat és nyári táborokat is.A jelentkezés feltétele, hogy a fiatalok aktívan részt vegyenek a helyi magyar közösségekben működő hétvégi iskolák, cserkészcsapatok, hagyományőrző- és kulturális egyesületek, vallási közösségek munkájában. JOHN N. LAUER LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM (LTP), 2020, MARCH 15 – JULY 15, 2020;
The LTP was established to allow young Hungarian Americans and well-qualified English-speaking Hungarians from Hungary and neighboring countries to gain first-hand experience at various Washington-based institutions. Participants gain invaluable work experience in the US, learn how Washington DC and American democracy works and build contacts in the US in their professional areas of expertise. The LTP internship grant covers living and local transportation expenses in the Washington, DC area for the duration of the internship. Following a brief training in Budapest, each intern is placed at a host institution that best matches his/her skills and fields of interest. The internship’s duration will depend on the requirements of the host organization, but will not be longer than four months. Applications should be submitted by registering at http://hacusa.org/cip/. LIBERTY BRIDGE PROGRAM: POST-GRADUATE VISITING RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP FOR THE 2020/2021, https://www.hungaryfoundation.
The goal of this fellowship is to support academic research of strategic importance to the US-Hungary relationship with educational institutions that are likely to become long-term partners for future academic collaborations. Applicants must be at least in their third year of their Ph.D. program at a Hungarian academic institution or must have received their Ph.D. within the last 5 years, preference will be given to those who are actively teaching in Hungary. Candidates must have secured a letter of invitation from a US host institution at the time of their application. For this fellowship, we are looking for highly-motivated young Hungarian scholars with an outstanding academic record and the drive to be bridge builders between Hungary and the US. The 2020 Summer Széll Kálmán Public Policy Fellowship is a full scholarship for students from Hungary to participate in The Fund for American Studies summer programs in Washington DC. The program will run June 6 – July 31, 2020. The two-month summer program includes an internship placement in Washington DC, academic credit from George Mason University, housing in the heart of DC on George Washington University’s campus, a variety of guest lectures and briefings, as well as opportunities for professional development and networking. The scholarship covers full tuition and a living stipend for the duration of the program. The application deadline for Hungarian students is January 21, 2020.

ONLINE MAGYAR / ONLINE HUNGARIAN COURSES AT CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY. Spring classes will run from January 13 to April 26, 2020.
Registration is now open for the online course Beginning Hungarian II, offered by Cleveland State University in Spring 2020. (Hungarian I is available each fall semester.) The courses are open to all worldwide; perfect for that relative or friend who wants to learn Hungarian! Taking Hungarian II is a good way of building on some basics you may already have (vowel harmony, basic verb conjugation, pronouns, numbers, basic vocabulary, and conversational blocks, etc.) Practical topics in the chapters include shopping, restaurant, or cooking. (Having taken Hungarian I at CSU in order to enroll in Hungarian II is not a formal requirement.)
Spring classes will run from January 13 to April 26, 2020.
